Founded in 2021 by former publishing professional Troy Hewitt, the company was established with the primary goal of simplifying the book-to-screen adaptation process. Later joined by media rights lawyer, Omar Nasar, writer, Helen Watts, and ex-ITV commissioning editor, Asif Zubairy, the team at Pendragon Works leveraged their respective experience in publishing, television, and law to become a leading authority in media development.

Since its inception, Pendragon Works has grown to offer outsourced services to producers and publishing houses, with a particular focus on the independent market. Their prestigious client and partner list includes Free@Last TV, Tri Moon Films, Hachette, Akupara Games and Evolutionary Films. 

In addition to their client services, Pendragon Works manages a diverse slate of development projects of its own, including feature films and documentaries.
